In between patients: Megan Gale and me

Lunchtime and super models. Here I am with Megan Gale. More about that in a second! In a long break between patients I popped down to Bondi Icebergs to have a cup of tea and review some study for acupuncture.
One of the great things about Bondi is that there is always something happening and today Megan Gale and a model co-worker where shooting swim suits for David Jones retail store.Probably didn't do as much study as I had planned :P

Bondi in the Winter Sun

Was at Bondi, near Icebergs the other day. It's Winter here in Sydney but we have had a couple of nice sunny days in amongst it. Have a look at the big waves, a few people surfing and the sea horizon from Bondi!

Favourite picture of Bondi

I am developing my blog to be more of a personal update as well as Chinese medicine adventuring. Soon I will be bringing you some favourite things along side some of "my world" Chinese medicine insights too!

So to kick it off here is my fav pic of Bondi. I liked it so much I used it for my acupuncture website background. You may think what does this have to do with acupuncture? I will tell you about that soon.

Whenever I go to check the site this is the first part that loads up and it makes me feel great whenever I see it. The view is from north Bondi looking over the beach to the south in the distance. Right in front are a couple of people hanging out either side of the railing.

I like to think of them as a great partners chatting in the Sun and soaking up the atmosphere and having a great time before they jump in the water. I also like the dramatic silhouette they make against all the light and ocean behind them.

The reason why I used it? The couple are a great expression of yin and yang for me and the picture is filled with good times and good feelings.

Enjoy

Acupuncture at Bondi Beach. Herbs at Bondi Beach

Acupuncture at Bondi Beach. Herbs at Bondi Beach

I have been busy organising my clinic position since coming back from China. I am practicing acupuncture and herbal medicine at 108 Roscoe Street, Bondi Beach. It’s moments from the world famous  beach!

Acupuncture treatment suited for you for pain and many other conditions.

Available are on site pre-cooked herbs in packs that you just drink, courtesy of  an amazing machine  from China.

The rooms are of a very comfortable and high standard. I am absolutely thrilled to be a part of it. If you would like to know more just get in touch through my email: damienbodnarchuk at hotmail.com

The clinic is run by a very experienced Chinese woman who is  a Chinese university taught practitioner and also lecturer at the University of Technology, Sydney.  She often travels to China each year so there are some great hand picked herbal products available as well.

More posts soon of the continuing adventures! Including a look at an acu treatment I had recently and how they used the needles in a specific way. Also a close up look at Helio in Surrey Hills where you can get all of  your acu supplies.

Best wishes and love. Have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Scarring Moxibustion Result

Pointing to scar on back

Raised white area near finger-marked by red outline.

Caught up with a friend, who studies TCM at another university, to go swimming at a pool in Bondi and we went over some Chinese Medicine too. Found out in his first year he had a class on burning moxibustion. The result is a raised white skin burn on his right side (on Bladder 23-the Kidney Shu point). It's a shame he goes to another uni as he would be a good subject for my continuing point location exams- as the points are marked out on him permanently. The scar is 3 years old and at the time another student placed the moxa on him and walked away out of ear shot. Because my friend had other needles in place he couldn't move to take the moxa off himself. He's also done hot needle technique. Both of these subjects are not covered practically at UTS because of possible burns I guess.
