Pre Massage class practice
Hi Blogs,
News in from the just past Australasian Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine Annual Conference (AACMAC) over last weekend: The World Health Organisation has released a much debated and laboured on publication of the official recognition of acupuncture points. Its a good step because it validates CM further and helps in the systematisation which is good for future research.
Another book mentioned is the Chinese Medicine Study Guide Series from the People's Medical Publishing House. Not sure if they're China Government run, sounds like though, but the book was well laid out ( had simplified text boxes of info-like Maciocia's books) with good english and seems to cost $50-which is a pretty amazing price for these types of books. Here's their site, the book in the pic above is the Diagnostics one I checked out:
Plus the food at the conference was apparently very good. I'll have to try and make the next one.

I saw you commenting on Dr. Melissa Clouthier's site and I wanted to come over and see your blog as well. I am seeing a wonderful Korean doctor/acupuncturist right now who is really helping me. I think Chinese medicine is extremely interesting. Bringing Eastern and Western medicine together can only be a good thing.
I wish you the best of luck with your studies and your career goals!
hey demo :)
Thanks for the book info.
Yes, the 'people's medical pubslishing house' is well known in china and also in korea. Didn't know (until today) that the books have been translated into english and other languages. That's awesome. Did you buy the diagnosis book? I'm interested in knowing more about it. I'll ask you more at school.
Good luck with your point location exam studies :)
Have a good weekend though!
Cheers,
Lydia
Thanks Lydia,
Chris brought in after the conference and we had a look at it. Chat to you later
